The Harrisburg PA Picnic

I’ve worked at going back and recalling my first picnic. I do recall having family picnics in Harrisburg, PA at the downtown city park. When this happened, my family and dad’s sister Aunt Mary/Uncle Jack lived thee in Harrisburg. Coming from Philadelphia was dad’s brother Uncle Calvin/Aunt Kay and another of dad’s sister Aunt Dorothy. At the time, they lived net to each other in row homes here on Weymouth Street. Dad’s youngest sister Aunt Frances/Uncle Chap usually both my grand parents from Williamsburg, PA. (They lived in Warriors Mark, PA).

I have pictures of one, I’m guessing, around 1951. It looks like my sister Sandy is about a year old. So that makes me about 3-1/2 years old. I really don’t have memoirs of the event. There is a great picture of Grandma Eastep sitting there at he picnic.

I know the one picture is Uncle Bob with Sandy and me. He married Aunt Betty in 1952. This would have been before they got married. He’s sitting at the picnic table by himself.

Uncle Bob is mom’s brother and I sure; she invited him to the picnic. At the time, he worked for Greenberg’s (a small retail chain) with a store in Millersburg, PA (about 25 miles north of Harrisburg) where he was the store manager.

The three photos have the same number on the back. In addition, the black car and trees in the background of Grandma Eastep and the three of us is the same.

Here’s my question to you:
Where was your first picnic site that you can remember?
